SIM check code for every network
Use these codes from the SIM you want to identify. They show the number on your screen or by SMS.

The Jazz, Zong and Ufone codes are listed in ProPakistani’s network code guides (Jazz, Ufone, all networks). Operators do not publish these codes on a single official page, and Telenor Pakistan merged into PTML (Ufone’s parent) in July 2026, so Telenor codes may change. If a code fails, call your helpline from the same SIM and ask for your number after confirming your CNIC.
Jazz number check code
Dial *99# from your Jazz SIM. ProPakistani reports it is free and shows your number with ownership details. The backup is texting MNP to 667, which deducts a small SMS charge. You can also call 111 and give your name, CNIC and the IMSI printed on the back of the SIM card.
If you have no balance or signal
Call or send a WhatsApp message to a friend or family member; your number appears on their phone. On Android, the number is sometimes shown in Settings > About phone > SIM status, but this field is often blank for Pakistani SIMs.
SIM information system: how many SIMs are on my CNIC?
There are only two official methods. Both come from PTA, and PTA repeated them in its June 2025 public warning reported by ARY News.
Method 1: 668 SMS
- Open messages on any active SIM.
- Type your 13-digit CNIC number without dashes, for example 3520212345671.
- Send it to 668.
- You receive a reply listing the number of active SIMs on that CNIC for each network (Jazz, Zong, Ufone, Telenor).
PTA described the 668 service as free when it launched (PTA). Some networks deduct a small SMS fee, so keep a few rupees of balance. Repeat the SMS if you get no reply within an hour; the service slows down during high-traffic days.
Method 2: online SIM information system (cnic.sims.pk)
- Open cnic.sims.pk in your browser. Type the address yourself; do not tap links from WhatsApp forwards.
- Enter your 13-digit CNIC.
- Complete the CAPTCHA and press submit.
- The page shows the count of SIMs per network on that CNIC.
The website is free. Foreign nationals with SIMs registered on a passport enter passport details instead. Like 668, it shows counts only, not the phone numbers or names. To see the actual numbers, visit the operator’s franchise with your original CNIC.

Avoid fake “SIM owner details” sites
Search results are full of “SIM data”, “live tracker” and “SIM owner details” sites that claim to show the name, CNIC and address behind any number. They are not run by PTA and often rely on leaked databases, so the data is unreliable and handling it can expose you to legal trouble under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016. Only 668 and cnic.sims.pk are official, and both work on your own CNIC only.
How many SIMs can be registered on one CNIC?
Under current rules, one CNIC can hold up to 5 voice SIMs and 3 data SIMs for personal use. PTA restated this in December 2025 when warning about SIM misuse (Profit). The limit goes back to a Supreme Court decision; in November 2015 the court kept the five-voice-SIM limit and allowed three data SIMs for devices such as dongles and trackers (PhoneWorld).
If you are at the limit, a franchise will refuse a new SIM until you block an old one. eSIMs count the same as physical SIMs.
How to block an unknown SIM on your CNIC
PTA “strongly advises” blocking any SIM in your name that you do not use. A SIM registered to you can be used to open mobile wallets, receive OTPs or make fraud calls, and the legal trail leads to your CNIC.
- Note which network shows the extra SIM in the 668 or cnic.sims.pk result.
- Go to that network’s franchise or customer service centre with your original CNIC. Phone calls cannot block a SIM you do not physically own, because the staff must verify you.
- Give your fingerprints for biometric verification and ask to see all numbers on your CNIC.
- Ask them to block and de-register the unknown number. Keep the receipt or complaint number.
- Check again with 668 after a few days to confirm the count has dropped.
Jazz customers can also start the request remotely: call 111 from a Jazz SIM, 021-111-300-300 from another line, or send “Hi” on WhatsApp to 0300-3008000 and choose SIM blocking, according to Jazz FAQs. The same channels block your own SIM if your phone is lost or stolen.
If you suspect fraud (for example a wallet opened in your name), also report it to the FIA’s cybercrime wing and your bank or wallet provider.
Common mistakes
- Typing the CNIC with dashes in the 668 message. Send digits only.
- Assuming a family member’s SIM is “yours” because it is on your CNIC. You are legally responsible for it; transfer it to their own CNIC at a franchise.
- Giving your SIM to a shopkeeper, driver or relative. PTA warned in 2025 and 2026 that the CNIC holder answers for misuse.
- Buying SIMs from street sellers. Buy only from authorised franchises and customer service centres.
