A Spain visit visa from Pakistan is a Schengen short-stay visa (type C) that allows up to 90 days in any 180-day period. The visa fee is €90 for adults, collected in Pakistan as Rs 29,578, plus a visa centre service charge of Rs 5,554, so an adult pays about Rs 35,132 in total. You book an appointment online, submit your file and fingerprints in person at the Spain Visa Application Centre in Islamabad, Lahore or Karachi, and the embassy normally decides within 15 calendar days.

Spain visit visa from Pakistan: the basics

Spain is part of the Schengen area, so the visa Spain issues is a Schengen visa. With it you can also move to other Schengen countries such as France, Italy or Germany during the same trip. The rule that decides where you apply is your main destination: apply to Spain if you will spend the most nights there, or if Spain is your first entry point when nights are equal.

The European Commission sets the common rules. Its Schengen visa page says you must apply at least 15 days before travel and no earlier than six months before, and that a short-stay visa covers up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

In Pakistan, Spain does not accept tourist files at the embassy counter. Applications go through the official Spain Visa Application Centre run by Intiana, which describes itself as the “official partner of Embassy of Spain in Pakistan”. The old address many people still search, pak.blsspainvisa.com, now redirects to thespainvisa.com, and the site footer links to BLS International. So when people say “BLS Spain appointment”, this is the system they mean.

Spain visa fee from Pakistan (October 2026)

The Schengen fee rose from €80 to €90 for adults on 11 June 2024. The visa centre collects it in rupees, in cash. Note that the Spanish Embassy Islamabad visa page still shows the old €80 figure; the EU and visa centre amounts below are the current ones.

Child 6 to 12€45Rs 14,789Rs 5,554Rs 20,343

Sources: EUR amounts from the European Commission; rupee amounts and the service charge (which includes 15% service tax and education cess) from the Spain visa centre tourism page. The visa fee is non-refundable even if the visa is refused, and the rupee amount can change with the exchange rate without notice.

Optional paid extras, such as the Premium Lounge offered in all three cities, add comfort at the centre. They do not speed up the embassy’s decision.

Where to apply: Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi

The visa centre has offices in the three main cities. From 6 July 2026 the Islamabad centre moved to 2nd Floor, Plot No. 3-A, G-7 Markaz, Islamabad (phone 051-2607123), according to the centre’s own announcement. The Lahore and Karachi centres are listed on the same site; confirm the address on your appointment letter, because centres do move.

The page also says files taken at satellite centres take 48 to 72 hours to reach Islamabad, Lahore or Karachi. Add those days to your planning.

How to book a Spain visa appointment in Pakistan

  1. Collect your documents first. Appointments are scarce, so do not book until your bank statement, tax papers and leave letter are ready.
  2. Create an account on the official booking page, appointment.thespainvisa.com, with your email and mobile number.
  3. Choose the centre and visa type (“Tourism” for a visit visa). Enter passport details exactly as printed.
  4. Pick a slot. The centre says new appointments are released every working day (not weekends or public holidays) and advises booking about a month ahead.
  5. Print the appointment letter. You can reprint or cancel it from the same portal.
  6. Attend in person with original documents, copies and the fee in cash. Your photo and ten fingerprints are taken unless you gave them for a Schengen visa in the last 59 months.
  7. Wait for the decision and collect. Keep your receipt; the passport is returned through the same centre once the embassy decides.

The centre warns that it and the embassy “do not work with any external agents” and that you should never pay through a personal bank account. If someone sells you a “confirmed appointment”, walk away.

Spain tourist visa from Pakistan: documents checklist

This list follows the visa centre’s Schengen checklist and the embassy page. Prepare originals plus one set of photocopies, in English or Spanish.

Every applicant

  • Schengen application form, completed and signed, with two recent photos on a white background.
  • Passport issued within the last 10 years, valid at least three months after you leave Schengen, with at least two blank pages. Old passports with previous visas help.
  • CNIC copy (or proof of legal residence in Pakistan for foreigners).
  • Travel medical insurance of at least €30,000 covering emergency treatment, hospital care and repatriation in all Schengen states for the whole trip.
  • Return flight reservation (a reservation, not a paid ticket).
  • Hotel bookings for every night, or an invitation and proof of accommodation from your host.
  • NADRA Family Registration Certificate in English. If you do not have one, see our guide on getting an FRC from NADRA.

Money and tax

  • Bank statement for the last six months, signed and stamped by the bank, plus a bank maintenance letter.
  • NTN certificate, or proof of exemption.
  • FBR acknowledgement of income tax returns for the last two tax years.

Neither the embassy nor the centre publishes a fixed minimum bank balance. What matters is that the balance and regular income clearly cover flights, hotels and daily costs for the trip, and that no large unexplained deposit appears just before you apply.

Depending on your job

  • Employed: last three salary slips, employment contract, and an employer letter approving leave with dates, designation, salary and a contact number.
  • Government employee: NOC that states the travel dates.
  • Business owner: company registration certificate (SECP, chamber or partnership deed) and business bank statements.
  • Retired: pension statements for six months.
  • Student: enrolment letter and student card, plus parents’ financial documents and their sponsorship letter.
  • Minors: consent of both parents, the non-travelling parent’s CNIC and passport copy, and school enrolment proof.

Processing time

The legal decision time is 15 calendar days from the day after you submit. The embassy page says it can extend to 45 days if an interview or extra documents are needed. Count backwards from your flight: appointment wait, plus up to 15 days, plus courier time. For summer travel, start in March or April.

Common reasons Spain refuses Pakistani applicants

Schengen refusal letters use a standard list of grounds. The ones that hit Pakistani files most often are these:

  • Purpose of the trip not clear, for example a vague itinerary or a hotel booking that does not match the flight dates.
  • Not enough proof of funds, or a sudden deposit that makes the statement look “arranged”.
  • Doubts that you will return: no stable job, no tax history, or a leave letter without dates.
  • Insurance below €30,000 or not valid for all Schengen states.
  • Documents that cannot be verified, such as a bank letter with no contact details.

If you are refused, you can appeal within the deadline written on the refusal letter, or reapply with a stronger file. A new application means a new fee.

Schengen visa from Pakistan: EES and ETIAS in 2026

One real change for 2026: the EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES) started in October 2025 and was fully deployed at all Schengen external borders on 10 April 2026. On your first entry, border officers record your fingerprints and a facial image digitally, and the EES replaces passport stamping. This makes overstays easy to detect, so count your 90 days carefully.

ETIAS, the online travel authorisation, is for visa-free nationalities. Pakistani passport holders need a Schengen visa instead, so ETIAS does not apply to you.

If your trip is not fixed on Europe, Pakistanis have quicker options. Our guides on the Turkey visa price from Pakistan and the Maldives visa for Pakistanis compare well on cost. If Europe interests you for work rather than tourism, read our Germany work visa from Pakistan guide, because a tourist visa cannot be converted into a work permit.
